Dentists from the Association of Aesthetic Dentists insist that services from the National Health Insurance Fund package be transferred for next year, if they are not used this year, they reported. This should happen if the health insured citizen has not used what he is entitled to free of charge only against his health insurances.
The association believes that the NHIF saves a little over BGN 40 million every year from patients without teeth who cannot afford to pay for the fabrication of prostheses.
According to the package for dental care in the National Framework Agreement for this year, starting in the fall, the fund will take over the examinations and preparation of patients for dentures, but the fabrication of dental prostheses itself will be, as before, at the expense of the patients. Only people between 60 and 65 years of age who are completely edentulous will benefit from the free dental service before they are made.
