Dear colleagues,

After a thorough discussion and careful monitoring of information about the spread and precautions related to the corona virus COVID-19, the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Alliance for Precision and Personalized Medicine-BAPPM made the difficult decision to postpone the Spring Academy of Personalized Molecular Pathology and Oncology, organized by BAPPM and Pleven Medical University, which was to be held on 04.04.2020 in the Panorama Hall, Inter Expo Center, Sofia. We plan to hold the Academy in the fall of 2020, at the same place, according to the same program, under the same conditions.

BAPPM is monitoring the steadily increasing spread of COVID-19 in recent weeks. This well-informed decision was made after a thorough review and discussion of the many factors affecting the Academy, including measures taken by the government, health institutions, academic structures, limiting business travel and events involving the gathering of large numbers of people indoors. It is obvious that all these factors negatively affect the ability of lecturers and participants in the training program to fully participate in the Academy.

The health, safety and security of all participants in the Spring Academy of Personalized Molecular Pathology and Oncology is a top priority of BAPPM. We are convinced that our decision to postpone the event is completely correct, in order to protect all participants from potential contact with the corona virus. We are fully aware that the postponement of the Academy brings disappointment to all partners interested in our activity, as the subject matter, multidisciplinary nature and extremely high level of expertise of the lecturers, caused great interest among representatives of several medical specialties.
