On October 9-11, 2020, the Sixth National Congress with international participation of the Bulgarian Association of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics will be held at the Park Hotel Moscow in the city of Sofia, which coincides with the celebration of the Association's 15th anniversary.

The congress is held in cooperation with the Neurosonology Group of the World Federation of Neurology, the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics, the Military Medical Academy, the National Sports Academy «V. Levski», the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Public Academy for Science, Education, Culture, the Bulgarian Endovascular Society, the Bulgarian Association for the Development of Mountain Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria. The Congress is accredited with 15 credit points by the Bulgarian Medical Union.

Traditionally, the forum is multidisciplinary and integrates the interests of various specialists - neurologists, neurosurgeons, angiologists, interventional specialists, etc. More than 120 delegates from Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, the Republic of North Macedonia and Croatia, students majoring in medicine, nursing, kinesitherapy, medical rehabilitation and occupational therapy from various Bulgarian medical universities, the National Sports Academy "V. Levski" and universities from North Macedonia.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year the foreign participation will be remote in the form of a Webbiner. We have also provided a hybrid broadcast of the forum with the possibility of online presence during the entire congress after registration in it.

The forum is dedicated to the innovations in ultrasound diagnostics of the nervous system with an emphasis on various problems of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of vascular diseases of the nervous system, which continue to be the second cause of mortality in Bulgaria. An interdisciplinary session has been organized in which current frontier problems in the field of neurocardiology, neurosurgery and neurooncology will be presented. The lectures will be presented by leading Bulgarian and international specialists. Practical training with demonstration of interesting clinical cases is planned.

In three poster sessions, 29 developments by young scientists and students from various medical universities from Bulgaria will be presented and compete for a prize, NSA «V. Levski" and from the Republic of Macedonia.

The congress is accompanied by a round table dedicated to the innovations of the Public Academy for Science, Education, Culture, as well as a round table on the topic "The quality of life in mountain areas", organized on the initiative of the Bulgarian Association for the Development of Mountain Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria jointly with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Bulgarian Society of Endovascular Therapy. A multimodal approach to neuroprotection will be discussed in a USB satellite symposium.

For the third time, the "Neurosonologist of the Year 2020" award for contributions to ultrasound diagnostics of the nervous system will be awarded at a solemn ceremony.

The congress is accompanied by an exhibition of paintings entitled "Art therapy" - works by patients with neurological diseases and elderly people.
