In 2017, the XII Congress of the Bulgarian Society of Ophthalmology brought together over 500 ophthalmologists from the country and the world.

The course "Optical Coherence Tomography. Angio OST” created a huge interest, for which the hall was too small to gather everyone who wanted to hear the lectures of the specialists.

During the forum, reports were presented by Bulgarian and foreign ophthalmologists, and some of the foreign speakers were representatives of the Society of European Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS).

ESCRS Academy was part of the program, and the representatives of the organisation who presented the reports were the President of ESCRS - Prof. David Spalton, Dr. Bekir Sitki Aslan, Dr. Ozana Moraru, Dr. Roberto Bellucci and Dr. Angela Panico.
