From October 21 to 23, the Eighth National Congress of the Bulgarian Association of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics (BSNCH) will be held in Park Hotel Moskva, Sofia, Bulgaria with international participation.

This year's scientific forum is in memory of Acad. Prof. Ekaterina Titianova, MD, founder of BSNCH and the journal "Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics".

The Congress is supported by the Neurosonology Research Group of the World Federation of Neurology. Professionals from a number of countries and specialties – neurology, angiology, neurosurgery, rehabilitation, vascular surgery, neuroradiology, cardiology – will have the opportunity to exchange and enrich their experience hybridly - live and online. Special guests and lecturers Prof. K. Niederkorn (Austria), Prof. V. Demarin (Croatia) and Prof. A. Arsovska (Republic of North Macedonia).

BSNCH was founded in 2005. It was created along the lines of the European Society of Neurosonology and Cerebral Hemodynamics. The main goals of the BSNCH are to confirm high professional criteria and professional ethics in the field of neurosonology and cerebral hemodynamics, by organizing, highlighting, assisting and supporting educational and research activities in this direction and other related fields in medicine. The association is a leader in introducing world standards in ultrasound diagnostics of the nervous system and therapeutic ultrasound in neurology in our country. It is published bilingually (English-Bulgarian periodical scientific journal "Neurosonology and cerebral hemodynamics", referenced in the international database Web of Sciences, Emergency Sources Citation Index and PubMed.

For the period 2005 - 2022, BSNCH has organized 9 scientific meetings and 7 National Congresses with international participation. It hosted the 16th World Neurosonology Forum of the World Federation of Neurology (2013, Sofia), two regional neurology training courses of the European Academy of Neurology (2014 and 2017, Sofia) and an International Seminar of theme "Ultrasound technologies - challenges for young doctors", financed by the "Youth Action" program of the European Commission.

The Eighth Congress of the BSNCH in October 2022 is organized in the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development declared by the United Nations. The emphasis of the Congress is exclusively views and methods for diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases and borderline conditions - cardiocerebral syndromes, neurorehabilitation. It introduces us to the latest advances in neurosonology and cerebral hemodynamics, using highly scientific approaches with a practical focus. A symposium on innovations in medicine, practical workshops and poster sessions were organized.
