During the period 16–18 May 2025, Hotel Rila in Borovets hosted the IV Conference of the Bulgarian Society of Breast Imaging. This year’s edition was dedicated to breast cancer screening and aimed to strengthen the fundamental concepts related to breast diseases, as well as to encourage in-depth discussions on national and international screening programs for early detection of the disease.

The event was an outstanding success, bringing together breast imaging experts, residents, PhD students, radiographers, and medical students from across the country. The scientific program featured lectures, research presentations, practical courses, and corporate demonstrations focused on current topics in mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, biopsy, and breast cancer screening.

Conference in numbers:

• 170 participants, including representatives of key medical and educational institutions, laboratories, and companies
• 8 plenary sessions with more than 30 lectures delivered by leading specialists
• 7 product demonstrations by medical and pharmaceutical companies
• 1 specialized breast imaging school
• 2 practical courses focused on biopsy and breast ultrasound screening
• 1 corporate exhibition with the participation of the conference’s partner companies – leading names in the sector
• 3 days dedicated to knowledge exchange, clinical experience, and innovations in breast imaging

One of the special highlights of the event was the screening of the documentary film “A Flower in the Storm” (Цвете в буря), part of the National Campaign for Early Breast Cancer Diagnosis.
