13th International Conference on WWER Fuel Performance, Modelling and Experimental Support
The successful international meetings on WWER FUEL PERFORMANCE, MODELLING AND EXPERIMENTAL SUPPORT, held from 1994, proved their usefulness and contribution to the enhancement of the safety and reliability of the WWER reactors, operated over the world. The Conference provides a common forum for better understanding of fuel modeling and performance amongst the nuclear fuel community. The primary objective is to bring together academic and industrial experts from the world to exchange information and to analyze advances in nuclear fuel technology.
As a result of the successful work of Bulgarian nuclear physicists, Bulgaria's membership in the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna, became possible.
The 13th International Conference on WWER Fuel Performance, Modelling and Experimental Support in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency was held 15-21 September 2019, Sol Nessebar Resort, Nessebar, Bulgaria, organized by Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The Conference was attended by over 100 experts from international scientific organizations working in the field of nuclear energy development, representatives of nuclear power plants and nuclear fuel producing companies. Among the participants are professionals of Russia, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, Norway, Poland, USA, Hungary, Finland, Czech Republic, India, South Korea, and others.
