The 26th National Congress of the Bulgarian Anatomical Society was held in MU - Sofia
XXVI National Congress of the Bulgarian Anatomical Society with international participation was held from 29.09 to 01.10.2023. The traditional forum is organized every two years, and this time the host was the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology at the Faculty of Medicine of our university.
The guests of the event were the Rector of Medical University - Sofia Academician Lachezar Traikov and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dimitar Bulanov. The chairman of the Bulgarian Anatomical Society, Prof. Nikolay Lazarov, congratulated Prof. Dr. Konstantin Koichev, MD, on the occasion of his 90th anniversary. Dr. Dimo Stoyanov and Dr. Martin Ivanov from Medical University - Varna were awarded with an award named after Prof. Dimitar Kadanov. The foreign guests at the congress were from Switzerland, Germany, Turkey and the Netherlands.
The main topics of the congress covered all areas of macroscopic and microscopic anatomy, cellular and molecular biology, clinical anatomy, imaging anatomy, embryology and anthropology. The scientific program of the congress included plenary lectures, oral and poster presentations. The annual lecture of the European Federation of Experimental Morphology (2023 EFEM lecture) was also presented during the congress.
